My Piranha tank setup
 

My 10 baby Red Belly Piranhas have now become 12. And from only being 1.5 inches, they are now well over 4 inches long!!!

So they needed to be moved into a bigger tank! And so it had to be done!! A new 300 Gallon tank was brought in where they will spend the rest of their blood thirsty lives in!

Okaaaaay!

So, I'm using these two filters alongside the original two that came along with the tank. It's so obvious our boys are custom-making tanks to the exact copy of those chinese imports for even cheaper! Damn didnt know it was possible to be cheaper than the chinese!!!

So here are the external filter which wont be used cause I need to modify the rear panel of the tank. And the other canister filter with very strong powerhead!

I obviously undersestimated the quanitity of sand i needed, turns out I only needed one bag, I BOUGHT FOUR!!!!! Damnit!!!

I am gonna use these standard filters during the initial cylcing period, I will probably put some old medium in there and run it for a few days along with the original tank water. Then lets see what happens!

Yipeeeeee, my 12 baby red's have moved in!

That must have been a the most tiring 2 days ever. And the moment of transition was a little frightning! Two of them played dead only moments after being dropped into the new tank!

The wife was convinced they were dying and she must have freaked out and almost cried. I had to explain to her this was normal but NO WAY!! I had to restrain her from taking them out again!!!! LOL

So... all tests were carried out and paramters were better than expected:

NO2 = 0, NO3 = 0, NH4 = 0, PH = 6.4
Water conditioner in, General Aid in, Bacteria In, Old medium and tank water in!! All good.

It took them 45 minutes and they were all over the place exploring!!! I loved watching them spread their fins and sprint all the way acrosss!!!! Woooohooo....

Switched on the moonlights, and they all freaked out! They have spooked ever since! What do I do????
